The area of Dhaka in the city’s southernmost reaches is referred to as Old Dhaka. The architecture of the city and its inhabitants, who lived along the Buriganga River, are testaments to Old Dhaka’s rich cultural and historical history. Ahsan Manjil and Lalbagh Fort are two popular sights in Old Dhaka.

If you’re in the area, you should stop by the Tara Mosque, the Bahadur Shah Park, and the Rose Garden Palace because each place has an interesting past. Don’t pass up the chance to visit the expansive campus of the University of Dhaka, which spans more than 600 acres of land.

SONARGAON

Due to its location as a busy river port in the late 1800s, Sonargaon was a popular destination for muslin traders. Its numerous galleries and historical landmarks make it a popular tourist destination and add to its allure. A magnificent museum has been created in the old residence of a successful Hindu merchant, the Boro Sardar Bari.

ST. MARTIN’S ISLAND

St. Martin’s Island is the only coral island in Bangladesh. This island is referred to as “Narikel Zinzira” in Bengali, which translates to “Coconut Island,” because it has an overabundance of coconut palms. 9 kilometres to the south of Coxs Bazar is the island.

LALAKHAL

Lalakhal, a broad canal, is situated in Sylhet District’s Jaintiapur. The bluish-green lake is the main draw to this location. The only thing to do in Lalakhal is take a boat ride.
