Covering an area of 148,460 square kilometers (57,320 square miles), this country is home to approximately 170 million people, making it the tenth most populous and densely inhabited country in the world. Bangladesh shares borders with India to the north, west, and east, and Myanmar to the southeast. To the south, it has a coastline along the Bay of Bengal.
