Pakistani drama industry is filled with young talented actresses. Yumna Zaidi is one of them, she’s one of the most successful actresses in the current slot.

Yumna Zaidi’s Early Life

She was born on 30th July 1989 in Karachi. Her father was a businessman. Her mother Shabana Naheed Zaidi is a housewife. She has a master’s degree in interior design. Yumna Zaidi was an introvert during her school days. Never thought of pursuing her career in acting.  while studying in the 8th grade, one of her friends, Affan Waheed,  Her first television appearance as Mehak was very much appreciated by the audience and the show makers. She was offered a lead role in the melodrama ‘Khushi Ek Roag.

Career

She is a Pakistani actress and model who is known for playing very challenging and extraordinary roles in the Urdu television industry. She has worked in many popular television shows like Khushi Ek Roag, Meri Dulari, Dil Muhallay Ki Haveli, Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se, Mausam, Guzaarish, and Zara Yaad Kar and has received seven Hum Award nominations for her impressive performances.

Especially due to his portrayal of Meerab in Geo Tv’s record breaking romance drama serial Tere Bin opposite his previous co-star Wahaj Ali. She then appeared in Hum TV’s Yeh Raha Dil in 2017 opposite Ahmed Ali. Zaidi played the character of Hayat whose mother has died and father deserted her at a young age. Her on-screen chemistry with Ali was praised by viewers and earned her nomination of Best on-screen couple at Hum Awards. Later she signed Kashif Nisar‘s directorial Pinjra. In the same year she appeared as Sila, a victim of sexual harassment in Bee Gul‘s directed Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila opposite Noman Ijaz and Saman Ansari. A critic from The News International praised her saying, “With fewer dialogues and a tough subject at hand, Yumna pulled off her role effortlessly, making it believable from beginning till the end”.
