1. Toyota
Toyota topped the list with about 36,200 vehicles sold this year to date. The Toyota HiLux is also regularly among the top selling cars in Australia. Other popular models at the time of writing include the Toyota RAV4, Toyota Prado, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry and Toyota Yaris Cross. Toyota also has some of the most popular hybrid cars in Australia at the time of writing, with its RAV4 Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid and Camry Hybrid finishing 2021 as the top three best selling new hybrid vehicles nationally, according to the FCAI.
2. Mazda
Mazda came in second place with just under 18,600 vehicles sold this year to date. One of its most popular models is currently the Mazda CX-5, followed by the Mazda CX–30, Mazda BT-50, Mazda3 and Mazda CX-3.
